DIY Mattress: Common Combinations

Posted on 2 Comments

While DIY combinations for your mattress are almost limitless, there are a few configurations of our products that are commonly combined. The pillows are deliberately matched with each combo to match the softness or firmness of the mattress. Here are some of common combinations:

FOR ADULTS:

(Soft Combo – generally for adults under 250 lbs.)

(Average Combo – generally for adults under 180 lbs.)

(Firm Combo – the most natural option, compares to an Extra Firm option without the topper, Firm with the topper)

(Extra Extra Firm Option – for those who like sleeping on the floor but want some cushion)

FOR CHILDREN:

(Starter Option that saves on the budget now and leaves room to grow later)

  1. Hello, I am new to the world of wool but am loving it so far! I absolutely love your business and what you do. I am looking to change out my families’ sleeping surfaces with the most natural and healthy option. I would love some help and assistance if possible with what supplies I will need and to be able to discuss some different options with someone who is much more knowledgeable than I! I am looking to make a twin sized wool mattress for my toddler at a minimum and potentially replacing my husband and I’s king sized mattress with a fairly firm wool mattress. I look forward to talking with someone soon! Thank you in advance for your time 🙂

    1. Thank you for your kind words! I am happy to help you create healthy bedding options for your family. Making a wool mattress is quite simple, though it requires an hour or so to tuft it. Full instructions and a supply list are available in this post on tufting a wool mattress here.
